In the beginning of Kindergarten I explain we have three different voices we will use in class. Our singing, speaking, and whisper voice. It is important for them to understand the difference, and also not to be afraid of using any of their voices. Here are the songs and rhymes we're working on currently, please ask your child to share them with you!
"Five Little Ladies" (Rhyme)
Five little ladies going for a walk
(Walk hand along leg)
Five little ladies stopping for a talk
(Hand shows talking)
Along came five little gentlemen
(walk other hand along leg)
They all danced together
(place hands together and rock back and forth)
And then there were ten!
(Show ten fingers)
"Frog in the Meadow" (Song)
--We explore different ways we can "stir" starting with just one finger making a circle
Frog in the meadow, can't get him out
Take a little stick and stir him about.
