In 1st Grade we can begin to review the basics learned in Kindergarten. By 1st grade, students should be able to tell the difference between their speaking, singing, and whisper voice. The game Good King Leopold helps us review this and the students love it! Here are the activities we are working on currently, please ask your child to share them with you!
"Alice the Camel"
Alice the camel has five humps, Alice the camel has five humps
Alice the camel has five humps, so go, Alice, go, boom, boom boom
-Repeat with four, three, two, one
Alice the camel has no humps, Alice the camel has no humps
Alice the camel as no humps, 'cause Alice is a HORSE!
**Ask your child to show you our dance moves!
"Frederick Fountain"
Sung: Frederick Fountain climbed a mountain right up to the very top.
Spoken: He ate his coat, and hat, and bag, and then poor Fred went POP!
-Clap hands on the word pop.
